In turn, The Abomination has abilities to assist the pair, but he is primarily the brawn. Use his "Tip Of The Spear" ability to enhance his attacks, and delivery the devastating combo of two flail attacks followed up with the mace. He can also use "Get Down" to assist attacks aimed specifically at Dirrhen.
Dirrhen is generally extremely friendly despite his appearance and his partner. He will talk to most of the people they pass by, in an attempt to strike up a conversation. He is ultimately, however, under the control of Kastuun. Whatever the necromancer dictates he will do. That sure doesn't stop him from talking the whole time.
As the brains of the operation, Dirrhen will do his best to steer The Abomination into ideal spots both in and out of combat. He has a decent repour with his simple spear-mate, and will not be afraid to de-escalate a situation that does not directly meet the demands of their mission.
The Abomination, on the other hand, is your typical undead. Cold, uninviting, and prone to violence. While once he was a mindless undead, his fusing with Dirrhen has caused him to gain average intelligence.
As the brawn, he'll put the smack down on anyone that threatens the duo or their goals. He doesn't always listen to Dirrhen, but has found his advice is usually sound. More often than not, he will follow Dirrhen's advice, but always makes a point to state that he's not following a command, simply taking the smarter path.
Sorrana and Dirrhen were once partners. They had made a name for themselves as adventurers, and were set out to go search out a rabid undead creature known only as "The Abomination". Well...they found it. Right next to a necromancer known as Kastuun. Kastuun laughed at their demands for him to cease what he was doing, and sent The Abomination after them. A grueling battle erupted, during which Kastuun sat to the side and merely observed.
Dirrhen threw her his spear, and she rushed in to plunge it into The Abomination. As she neared the beast, Dirrhen heard Kastuun utter some magic, and felt his body propel forward.
While her back was turned, Kastuun waved his hands, and the three were suddenly elsewhere. Dirrhen screamed Sorrana's name, telling her to hunt them down. Kastuun laughed, telling Dirrhen that she couldn't hear him anymore.
For days, Dirrhen was tortured. Attached to The Abomination, he had to listen as the creature feasted on screaming prey. He writhed in agony, trying to not listen but being unable to escape. Finally, after what felt like eternity, Kastuun delivered him some piece - in the form of a dagger to his heart.
Then he woke up. Still attached to The Abomination. Feeling wrong. Kastuun stood before him.
"There, that ought to show that other one what the price is to interfere with my affairs. Ironic, isn't it? You're now paired up with the very thing you sought to kill!"
With that, Kastuun started letting out a cackle, he could feel The Abomination laughing in a terrifying gurgle. Kastuun stopped briefly and snapped his head to Dirrhen, uttering a simple phrase:
"Laugh, you fool."
He started laughing too, every ounce of his brain strained to not laugh, but he did.
It WAS pretty ironic, after all.
