Rafentus Trintillion

Level 4

Rafentus Trintillion is a strong spellsword, and a confident scumbag. He's been performing some minor experiments - namely how many people will fall victim to simple traps. What will players do about this menace?

Rafentus, despite being insufferable, is rather talented. There are few that can flow as well from sword blows to spellcasting as well as him. Use this to keep the players on their toes.

This fight should feel very pulp-y. Rafentus is a scumbag, he's not above playing dirty, and he's not above exploiting weaknesses. If he spots an opponent blinded, he'll hone in on them and take them down quickly. He's also absurdly confident in his own ability, perhaps players could use this to their advantage. If someone claims they are better than him, he would most likely take them up on that challenge.

Of course, no one says a 1 on 1 dual has to be fair.

Rafentus is pompous, an ass, and will do what he wants to extrapolate whatever data he's trying to see. He has no qualms with killing, but he does follow a loose code - everything is in service of gaining more knowledge. His ONLY goal is to become the most powerful spellsword in the lands.

His imp, Winnifried, is his only real ally, but he does talk to Winnifried constantly. Bouncing theories off of him, talking about their day, or just deciding what to do with the latest buffoon to fall into their trap are common topics amongst them.

Rafentus intentionally has a very loose backstory. What is he in your game? Where did he hail from? Why is he the way that he is?
The right music helps set the tone amazingly. Rafentus should feel like a threat, but still encapsulate his personality. Wine Wars from The Witcher 3 can hit this mark very well.
