Once a part of an angelic being known as Iutia, Spirit was splintered off in Iutia’s dying breath, along with Reason and Desire, each with a sole purpose - guarding their respective key fragments. This is the only objective that actually matters to the construct; as long as it can run, it will make sure the fragment is safe.
Spirit's fight is fairly straight forward - Spirit quickly moves around the battlefield, shrugging off some damage and negating some damage.
Take advantage of Spirit's speed to put it next to key targets, between the 60 ft. movement and free Misty Step, your players will have to think strategically to keep the construct off of their damage dealers. In addition, use Speedy Strikes to your advantage to stop those pesky front liners from halting your advance
On each turn, Spirit will trigger Adaptive Build on the first attack or spell that hits it. Describe the spell or attack hitting them, with Spirit taking the blow but visibly shifting around, its glaive enhancing in various ways depending on the damage type. Perhaps the glaive gets bathed in fire, and Spirit itself gains a more fiery appearance.
Once Adaptive Build has been triggered, use that damage type to enhance attacks with Tirpse, Sweeping Strike, and Shield Slam. Sweeping Strike is intended for if the players are bunched up, and Shield Slam for targeting a particular threat.
Spirit doesn't have much of a personality. It was created with a purpose, and fulfills that purpose. Now, that doesn't mean it has no personality at all, but it's personality could be based entirely on someone who passed through. What kind of personality do you think Spirit should have?
Once a part of an angelic being known as Iutia, Spirit was split off along with two similar constructs, Reason and Desire. A key was split into thirds, and each construct entrusted with protecting a fragment of it. It's said that not even the constructs know what this key is hiding. How much treasure could be hidden. Whatever is being protected, it must be worth it.
You could tease Spirit by describing it's travels through towns. Everyone is terrified of it, because no one knows how to predict it. In some towns, it harms absolutely no one. In others, it's killed damn near half the town.
Spirit travels from town to town, which means there's plenty of opportunity for roleplay involving rumors of it, or even with the construct itself. A lightly ominous, fast tempo track will fit perfectly for our speedy protector. Plots and Intrigue from Gwent should fit the bill perfectly for this!
Once combat hits, a fast, hard hitting, and slightly chaotic track would do well for the mood of this fight. Try out On the Champs-Désolés from the Witcher 3!
