Sorrana, the Double Edged Blade

Level 8

Sorrana is a competent fighter hellbent on one thing only - tracking down and reversing the damage she's done to her former partner, Dirrhen. She is rather friendly most of the time, however quickly flows between two very distinct fighting styles in combat, leading to a very jarring encounter.

Sorrana has two very distinct fighting styles - Helis and Lunis. Swapping between both of these near polar opposites leads to a very jarring encounter, they're never going to know what comes next.

During Helis, you should roleplay Sorrana as almost rabid. She is hungry to lay waste to the foes before her. She will become hyper aggressive, and will take risks that may leave her in a bad spot to land a devastating blow against a key opponent. Utilize her more aggressive toolkit in Spinning Slash and Vicious Strikes to dish out tons of damage. There is no limit on the amount of times an opponent can be hit by the fire damage of Spinning Slash.

During Lunis, she is calm, collected, and reserved. Describe her taking on a more defensive front, eliminating most of, if not all of her openings. She will move intelligently, and leave herself well positioned to deal with whatever the enemy is throwing at her. Utilize her more defensive toolkit between Fanatical Shield and Chilling Strike to control the battlefield a little more.

Sorrana is generally extremely pleasant. If she spies someone in need, no matter how little the issue, she'll help out. In roleplay, you should play her as such, but sprinkle in some notes that she has definitely seen some stuff in her lifetime. In a roleplay situation, the second she feels threatened, or feels as though the person she's speaking to is withholding information, her personality will change to be that of the more aggressive Helis. She will remain this way until the event that caused her to go there resolved or if combat begins.

During Helis, she is short tempered, bad mannered, and will be hyper aggressive towards everyone she views as a threat. She does not prefer this side of things, but recognizes that it has its place. "All good blades have two edges", she is often heard saying.

Sorrana and Dirrhen were once partners. They had made a name for themselves as adventurers, and were set out to go search out a rabid undead creature known only as "The Abomination". Well...they found it. Right next to a necromancer known as Kastuun. Kastuun laughed at their demands for him to cease what he was doing, and sent The Abomination after them. A grueling battle erupted, during which Kastuun sat to the side and merely observed.
Sorrana and Dirrhen were an accomplished duo, darting around the beast two and fro. Dirrhen, using his words and his spear to peck at body and mind, and Sorrana using her silvered greatsword to cut gash after gash into the creature. Everything was looking good, until The Abomination slapped the sword from Sorrana's hands, sending it skittering away.
The Abomination began setting upon the now defenseless Sorrana, when Dirrhen threw his spear over to her. She rushed at the beast, yelling out a war cry as she set to plunge the spear into it.
Before she could reach, however, Kastuun uttered some words of magic. The Abomination turned to face the necromancer. Before Sorrana could react, Dirrhen rushed in between her and the creature. It was too late to stop. She thrust the spear through the pair, and both let out great cries of agony. She stumbled backwards to retrieve her sword and cut Dirrhen loose, turning to grab the blade.
When she turned back, Kastuun, Dirrhen, and the Abomination were all gone. The only thing remaining was a whisper on the wind from Dirrhen.
"Don't blame yourself, just hunt this sunuvabitch down."

Since then, that has been her only goal.
The right music helps set the tone amazingly. Sorrana should have a very chaotic theme that matches her fight. You're... Immortal from The Witcher 3: Heart of Stone should hit that mark pretty well!
